Dear Elstow Church,

Welcome again to the weekly Church e-mail for the Second Sunday of Lent. So we now have a ‘Road Map’ out of the pandemic which has helped with our planning for things such as weddings – and some outdoor theatre productions. I’ve even taking a booking this week for a Baptism. I am still awaiting with anticipation (along with so many others) news as to when we will be allowed to sing again.

Once again this Sunday we are going to live-stream the Sunday 10:00am Eucharist direct to our YouTube channel instead of Facebook. Hopefully the buffering will not be too bad and we are still working to improve the sound:

There is an online Zoom Sunday school this week at 11:00am (let me know if you’d like to join). We will also gather at 11:30am via Zoom on Sunday for the weekly coffee and natter:

On this week’s ‘Reach Out’ you will find the latest shortages at the Bedford Foodbank.

I’m pleased to say that following a good meeting with the Church Architects behind the scenes work is progressing well. We expect Tender documents to be finalised and the tendering process to take place from 12th March. We also anticipate the Reinstatement of Scheduled Ancient Monument Consent around 9th April, and a Contact to be put in place and commencement of works from 26th April. All of which is to be celebrated. We still need your prayers to support the ongoing Fund Applications that are currently being finalised and hopefully submitted in the next couple of weeks to fund the much needed finance to progress the next phase of works.
