Elstow Abbey is open for public worship ...

It is a joy to welcome you in person as the Church is still permitted to offer corporate worship. However, please see update below:

Following the government announcement on the 30th December and the increased number of Tier 4 areas, the PCC have looked at whether it is right that we remain open for public worship. The new variant of the virus appears to be spreading rapidly. The situation is changing daily and the impact of families gathering at Christmas means that the rates of infection are likely to increase substantially over the next few days. However, we believe that here at Elstow Abbey we have created a Covid-secure space for those who choose to attend worship. The fact that the government has not suggested that we suspend public worship is a tribute to how effective this work has been. So for the time being we will continue to open the Church on Saturday mornings from 10:00am – 12noon for individual prayer and on Sundays offer a shortened said Holy Communion at 9:00am & 10:00am with a short Iona Evening Prayer at 6:30pm.

A prerecorded service of meditation will continue on-line via YouTube (see link under 'Public Worship' on this website)

As noted above, Elstow Abbey will also be open for anyone who would like to call in to pray, pause, reflect whilst listening to some music and maybe light a candle at the following time:
Saturday mornings 10.00am – 12noon

Elstow Abbey Church is a Foodbank donation point. If you would like to make donations to the Bedford Food Bank please call in at the times above when our church will be open.

Please look at our weekly 'Reach Out' as well to stay in touch ... see page (under 'Public Worship') on this website.

Thank you to all those who were able to take part in our Christmas services. Please continue to look at this website together with our Facebook pages for further information on what's happening as we start the new year.
