The following is an extract from the Annual Report (2019) for Elstow Abbey:
This year the Abbey was transformed into a Spaceship and more than 60 children and 20 adults “blasted off” to discover why our amazing creator God, who made the Universe, cares for and looks after us all. In the absence of David and John (for some of the week) the usual mayhem was ably provided by Hannah, Beth and Cyrus, who actually managed to create even more mess than in previous years and we are really grateful to them and to Michelle Flemmons and her family for leading the games each morning.
None of this would be possible without the help and support of an army of volunteers who willingly give their time and energy each year to help us to reach out to so many children – Thank you! I never cease to be amazed at the ways in which God provides – whether it is a supply of leaders, a call for resources, the words to say in any situation or just the strength and resilience to continue.
We pray that God will continue to work in the lives of these children and their families and that they might grow to know him more.
